Healing Your Inner Eater: Break the Chain of Eating Dysfunction for Yourself, Your Clients, & the Next Generation
Half / Full Day Paid CEU Workshop by Jessica Setnick, MS, RD, CEDS-C
3 CEU's will be available, for mental health professionals and registered dietitians, for each session
LOCATION: Boise State University, Multipurpose Building #118 (2110 W University Dr, Boise, ID 83725)
The further an eating disorder provider goes in their career, the more difficult their questions become. Because eating disorder treatment and best practices are still evolving, case consultation with peers and more experienced providers is a crucial tool when treatment decisions are challenging, boundaries are muddy, and ethical issues arise. In this advanced session, veteran eating disorder dietitian Jessica Setnick will offer consultation regarding cases brought by participants and address three topics that even experts disagree on: team treatment, the definition of “recovery,” and harm reduction.
Learning objectives. Based on the content of the workshop participants will be able to:
1. Consider how to keep a patient’s best interest at the forefront in situations where other providers seem to step beyond their professional scope or refuse to participate as a team.
2. Describe the benefits and drawbacks of a field-wide consensus definition of “recovery” as opposed to allowing individuals to define it for themselves.
3. Describe the benefits and drawbacks of harm reduction approaches for clients with active eating disorders.
